UbC-luc

Overview

UbC-luc BP (P/N 124578) Breeding Pair or UbC-luc (P/N 124313)

Light producing animal model (LPTA) C57BL/6 UbC-Luc+:TyrC/C, commonly called UBC- luc, carries a 14 kbp fragment of the murine UBC promoter (UBC) isolated from genomic DNA, a chimeric intron, and modified firefly luciferase cDNA (Promega pGL-3). Basal expression of the reporter was highest in intestines, brain, heart, muscle, kidneys, and detectable in all tissues, including white blood cells. The reporter is constitutively expressed and is not significantly inducible.

Mouse Strain:  C57BL/6 UbC-Luc+:TyrC/C
Common Name:  UbC-luc
Genotype:  Hemizygous
Background Strain:  C57BL/6
Coat Color:  Albino

Applications

This Ubiquitin C-luc transgenic mice show constitutive and ubiquitous luciferase expression in all the tissues and can serve as donor mice for bioluminescence labeled cells that can be applied to cell proliferation and differentiation studies once implanted into recipient mice. The utility of these mice for noninvasive monitoring of endometriosis and onset of angiogenesis has also been shown.
