Mup-luc
Overview
Mup-luc Xen (P/N 119334) Breeding Pair or Mup-luc Xen (P/N 119349) Individual Animal
Light producing animal model (LPTA®) FVB/N-Tg(Mup-luc)-Xen, commonly called Mup-luc, carries a 2.5 kb major urinary protein (Mup) promoter and modified firefly luciferase cDNA (Promega pGL-3). Basal expression of the reporter was observed in the preputial glands. Luminometer assays of organ lysates prepared from adult males and females quantify Mup-luc expression in organs. Mup synthesis is under multi-hormonal regulation and has been shown to be down-regulated in male mice treated with estrogens and up-regulated in castrated males and females treated with androgens. This LPTA® animal model is available from Xenogen Biosciences, Cranbury, New Jersey, USA.| Model: | Endocrine Disruptor Model |

Applications
The Mup-luc LPTA® animal model is useful in studying Mup gene regulation, androgenic hormonal regulation and endocrine disruption.
