Epx-luc
Overview
Epx-luc BP (P/N 119285) Breeding Pair or Epx-luc (P/N 119307) Individual Animal
Light producing animal model (LPTA®) FVB/N-Tg(Epx-luc)-Xen, commonly called Epx-luc, carries a 9.8 kbp mouse eosinophil peroxidase (Epx) promoter, 800 bp human βglobin intron 2, and modified firefly luciferase cDNA (Promega pGL-3). Basal expression of the reporter is observed primarily in eosinophils. Epx-luc expression in male and female mice was low in gut, possibly the result of resident eosinophils in lymphatic tissue surrounding the gut. The reporter is inducible during Th2-type immune response, which results in eosinophilia. This LPTA® animal model is available from Xenogen Biosciences, Cranbury, New Jersey, USA.| Model: | Inflammatory Model |

Applications
The Epx-luc LPTA® animal model is useful in studying changes in eosinophil production resulting from parasite infection and asthma, and may be used as donor animals for studying bone marrow transplantation.
