hVEGF-luc/PC3M Reporter Cell Line
Overview
Designation: hVEGF-luc/PC3M Reporter
Tissue: Human: carcinoma; prostate
Source of Parental Line: MD Anderson Cancer Center, the University of Texas
Description:
This reporter cell line was created by cloning the hypoxia-inducible human vascular endothelial growth factor 1 (hVEGF1) promoter into a reporter plasmid expressing luciferase and stably transfected into a prostate cancer cell line, PC3M. This reporter cell line can be utilized to detect early events of angiogenesis such as the activation of the hVEGF promoter, in vivo. This model may be used to screen compounds that block hVEGF1 expression during the early phase of tumor growth.
