LL/2-luc-M38 Bioware® Cell Line
The LL/2-luc-M38 Bioware® Cell Line (P/N 119267) is a light producing cell line derived from murine lung carcinoma LL/2 cells by stable transfection of the North American Firefly Luciferase gene expressed from the PCI-luc promoter. Selection Marker: Neomycin (G418 Sensitivity: 1 mg/ml).
Tissue: Mouse: carcinoma, lung
Parental Line Source: NCI
Bioluminescence In Vitro: Approx. 10-60 photons/sec/cell, subject to imaging and culturing conditions
In Vivo Models Tested:
SCID-bg (CR): subcutaneous with spontaneous metastasis, intravenous-multiple metastasis
C57BL/6-albino (JAX): ): subcutaneous with spontaneous metastasis, intravenous-multiple metastasis

Applications
The LL/2-luc-M38 Bioware® Cell Line (P/N 119267) can be used in vivo to establish subcutaneous tumor models with spontaneous metastasis and experimental metastasis models (after intravenous injection).
NOTE: Recommended mouse strains for in vivo imaging: SCID-beige (CR) and C57BL/6-albino (JAX). Bioluminescent imaging detected tumor cells throughout the experiment; measurable tumors may be measured by caliper after day 10 in the s.c. model. The highest rate of metastasis after s.c. or i.v. injection was observed in experiments using SCID-bg mice.
