SKOV3-luc-D3 Bioware® Cell Line

SK-OV-3-luc-D3 Bioware® Cell Line is a light producing cell line derived from SK-OV-3 human ovarian carcinoma cells by stable transfection of the North American Firefly Luciferase gene expressed from the CMV promoter. Selection Marker: Neomycin (G418 Sensitivity: 0.8 mg/ml).

Tissue:  Human:  adenocarcinoma, ovary

Parental Line Source: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

Bioluminescence In Vitro:  Approx. 50-100 photons/sec/cell, subject to imaging and culturing conditions

In Vivo Models Tested:
Nu/nu (CR): subcutaneous, intraperitoneal
SCID-bg (CR): subcutaneous, intraperitoneal

Applications

The SK-O-V3-luc-D3 Bioware® Cell Line (P/N 119276) can be used in vivo to establish human ovarian adenocaricinoma subcutaneous and peritoneal dissemination tumor models in nu/nu and SCID-bg mice. Bioluminescent imaging detected tumor cells throughout the experiment; tumors may be measured by caliper six weeks after the s.c. injection. Distal metastasis from s.c. or i.p. sites was rarely detected (less than 10% of animals).
